Being centrally located ... we deliver to Mountain Home, Gainesville and Theodosia on Wednesdays and to West Plains and Willow Springs on Thursdays.

Our supplier is unique in its approach to acquiring produce for the Co-op. The founders are farmers that got together in 2005 to create a co-op to help distribute their products. So, what they do is get products from smaller family farms first, many of which have CSA's, and then fill in the blanks with larger organic farms. Our goal is to do the same thing... utilize Ozark growers then fill in the blanks with what the supplier has to offer utilizing the smaller farms that they work with first.

To get started please fill in our contact form with the type of box you wish to order order, phone number and start up date and we will send you an email to confirm your order.

Look forward to meeting you!

Blessings,

The Semyck Family

I received a message on fb today and thought I had better post this one here as well.

Wow Wendy! What a great video...loved watching the way you grow mushrooms. I see you live in Tecumseh, which is out my back door! Do you ever let anyone come and see your operation? I had no idea there was such a place close by. I would be interested in pricing the kits to get started and some of the veggie builder.

Do you have ...any advice for the person that is not local and wants to grow mushrooms for themselves only? Is drying about the only way to store the mushrooms most effectively? We appreciate all your information--it's wonderful.

Thank You!
Yes, Bob and I will take people through.
I think we are going to have to make a farm tour day once or twice a month. hmmmm
email me at shroomshack@gmail.com and we will talk more.
We ship across the lower 48. $10 for your choice of three packages + PM shipping.
Agaricus production (ports and buttons) is something that requires training. Shiitake and Oyster are a little easier for people to do following directions/book.
We are going to start smoking and drying as well as just plain drying our 'overstock' when that starts happening. Hopefully next week we will see extra. We dry all but white buttons.
Another way is to can them... though they may loose something in translation. However, you can can them in olive oil with various spices and herbs and that can make a special treat to use throughout the winter. I've canned them in my pasta sauce. That works well.
I also like to freeze them. You can slice them up, place on a cookie sheet in a single layer, freeze, then put them in a freezer baggie to use later.
To use do NOT thaw! Put right into the frying pan and cook them up.
You can also pre-make stuffed mushrooms, freeze, bag and pull out as you need - go directly to the oven with them... do NOT thaw.
Hope that helps!
