What people are saying...
Internet customer since 2006 (when I first started selling our mushrooms via the internet I didn't have a website and I did it through a homeschool book club online during one of their friday's that you could advertise anything. I had several customers, repeats, and standing orders):
Roberta K from Wisconsin is one of them. Thanks Roberta!
This is her response since starting to get them again this year:
"I have had them for 3 meals already! We grilled the port. and put on hamburgers - yummy! sure send me the info (***in regards to our twice monthly email newsletter to internet customers***) - Thanks for yummy food."

"You sure have a good gig here and growing by leaps and bounds. Things end up the way they do for the best, I trust. Love your web adventures and wish you, with all my heart, great success. Anyone that buys from you can count themselves blessed!! I just know once they see your beautiful shrooms, well, just be ready!
Great idea on the pot. I drug around in the yard yesterday and today looking for just the right spot and materials to do the raised bed and couldn't really get into it. I have a couple of huge pots I can use and will get some more of the mushroom dirt tomorrow. Do you think your compost is potent enough to plant in without anything else added? I will talk to Bob tomorrow about that.
best wishes and good luck on your grand adventures. "

*** In response to her compost question: Our straight out of the farm compost mixed with worm castings and trace minerals (Veggie Builder) really needs to be mixed 50/50 with plain ole dirt. It is so yummy to the plants, but they need something to really sink their feet into. I have grown into straight compost before, however, mine was aged a year before I did that. I haven't had to re-fertilize for four years in those flower beds. The plants that grow in them still look great. I am top dressing this year to put a stop to the weeds and give the growing shrubs, roses, perennials, and crab apple trees more food this year. We have several 'special' tomato plants this year that we are growing in large pots that will be partially dug in. We mixed Veggie Builder and garden soil (stuff we have amended year after year with our compost) 50/50 then put about a 2" layer of Veggie Builder on top. So far those plants are really enjoying their new environment. ***

"Wendy - this recipe sounds great! Can't wait to try it.
My husband made me the BEST omelet this morning - we work at home so we don't have to eat breakfast at the crack of dawn. About 9:00 Cliff decided to make an omelet, we usually split one.
This had your sautéd Shiitake mushrooms, sautéd fresh spinach and onions, and swiss cheese in it. Then we topped it with some left over Hollandaise sauce and chopped tomatoes. The eggs were from a friend that has free range organic chickens and she gives them to us for free : )
Oh my goodness it was good.
If you don't mind, I may use some of your recipes in my cooking column. I'll of course credit you and send people to your blog. I do the weekly cooking column for the Mountaineer Echo (Marion County) it's called "Good Enough to Eat, Wild Game and Everyday Cooking."
Thanks for a fun blog, we enjoy it. "
Take care,

"Went to the Market yesterday specifically to get rhubarb and you folks were already out - I wept in grief, as the sweet memories of childhood becoming reality all to quickly slipped away. Substituted with 4 tomato plants but was told to inquire if you would have one lone rhubarb plant for me on Saturday morning. Any possibility? I will be working OT and getting off work by 8 to stop by for Veggie Builder.
Appreciate you and your business," Sherilynn R.
***Sherilynn got her cup of rhubarb from us at the next market and wrote: ***
"Cup of rhubarb is currently nestled under the coolness of our huge magnolia tree until proper place can be readied. It's so cute! Love the veggie builder as much as the tomato plants do!
Again, thanks," Sherilynn

***Thank You EVERYONE for your thoughts and prayers for our family, especially our little Jacob, and our mushroom adventure through the years. We appreciate all of you! If it weren't for your support we would not still be growing mushrooms. Who knows where we would be.
Six years and Growing!
Thank You!!!
