Organic Produce Co-op for week of Feb 6th
So far this is what I'm looking at putting in next weeks boxes. If you have anything that you would like to see don't hesitate to inquire. If you are interested in ordering 1/2 or full cases of something (not just what I have listed below) just ask and I will look up pricing and availability. Many herbs are available.
Fruit: Bananas, Fuji, Braeburn, Pink Lady and Granny Smith Apples, Navel Oranges, Tangeloes, Bosc and D'Anjou Pears and lemons.
Veggies and Herbs: Rainbow Chard, Red and Green Leaf lettuce, Romaine lettuce, Italian flat leaf Parsley, cilantro, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, Sweet Yellow Bell Peppers, Jumbo sweet Red Onions, Roma Tomatoes, Zucchini Squash and Green Beans.
Add on's (list as of tonight):
- 3# Garnet Yams $4.25
- Beets 5# for $10
- Spaghetti Squash $2.30/pound (limited quantity... get your order in early as I can add to our order on Sat before 11am),
- Acorn Squash $1.10 per pound (limited quantity... please get your order in early for this item. I have until 11am Saturday to add more if need be)
- Red-White-and-Blue Potatoes... on the small side these are a purple potato, a standard red and a yellow variety that has a creamy white colored skin. Will be in 3# bags for $3.
- There should also be carrots, lettuce and Yellow Bell Peppers available to add on.
- 2# lemon for $3.
- $5 Fruit bag ~our choice - whatever we have left over after getting the boxes ready. This worked great and really helped out this week ~ Thanks! I actually ran out of bananas this week. I'm ordering an extra case so we don't run short. That means I should have extra bananas to add to the boxes if you want to add a small or large bunch on.
- Ginger 50cents/oz
- 3pk garlic for $3.75
- Carob Coconut Clusters $1.50 / 6oz
- Carob coated cashews $2 / 6oz
- 2# Quinoa (USA grown!)
After I speak with our supplier tomorrow I will work the numbers and let you know what we are looking at putting in each box.
I place my order tomorrow... for those that need to, please place your box order for next week by Saturday Morning so I can be sure to have you covered.
We do recycle the boxes... esp the nice heavy duty boxes whose lids fold over to protect the contents and the banana boxes. If you have no use for them, please send them back our way. We also recycle the black and blue produce flats. Saves money and the environment. Thanks for your help!
Blessings,
Wendy
PS. We are considering making a drop off point in Willow Springs. How many of you would utilize that drop off point? Do you have friends, family and neighbors that would be interested in getting the produce every week or every other week too? Share our
website, make a list (names, numbers, emails)... ask around... How many families do you think would benefit by us creating this drop off point? Maybe create a mini co-op of 5-10 families... Thanks for your time! ~w
